About Leap

LEAP is owned and operated by passionate New Zealand folk and is proud to be providing lots of fun and exercise for the Waikato and Otago regions.

The construction of all our trampolines has been 100% kept in New Zealand by using local engineers, architects and builders from around the country – so you know you’re supporting the local community by enjoying your time at LEAP.

LEAP’S Journey

The trampoline park phenomenon has taken the United States by storm over the past 10 years. The trend has spread to England, Europe and Australia and has recently arrived in New Zealand.

LEAP emerged from an idea 4 years ago. As the founders and owners of Hinterland Adventures we were really keen to open a new business for Hamilton. The criteria was it needed to be indoors, be some sort of activity, provide a fun experience, be different, be available for adults and kids (as we’re big kids too!) and be cool.

After much internet research, conversations with others, late nights and head scratching… LEAP was born. We’ve tried to use local wherever possible. Builders, engineers, awning and mat specialists, designer, sign-writer, sound system engineers, carpenters, painters, plumbers, OSH specialists, uniform providers, carpet layers, computer constructors not to mention team members, family and friends have all been local folk.

It’s been a fantastic team effort to get this idea into action and has really shown how amazing Kiwis are at getting the job done and solving problems. Rest assured though, there’s no number 8 wire here!!

We sincerely would like to thank every single person who’s been involved in LEAP’s journey and believe wholeheartedly that New Zealanders will all enjoy the fruits of all that hard yakka.

The benefits of Leaping!

Rebounding is an aerobic exercise that strengthens every part of the body. Brilliantly, the springs take away a lot of the impact meaning your joints don’t get so bashed around as can happen with other sports. In fact, it’s been proven that trampolining is 3 times more beneficial than running. So a 10 minute trampoline bounce is the same as a 30 minute run – awesome!

Even astronauts are getting into it! Trampolining is part of the NASA training programme. It’s fantastic exercise, fun for all ages and just look at what it can do for your body and you….

  • Help with weight loss
  • Low impact on joints and body
  • Improve circulation
Reduce stress…how can you be stressed when you’re having so much fun?
  • Stimulate the lymphatic system which in turn stimulates detoxification and boosts immunity
  • Improves your sense of balance, coordination and motor skills
  • Strengthen your heart
  • Stimulate your metabolism
  • Increase energy and sense of vitality
  • Firm and tone muscles
  • Make you smile!
